Is America still a Credit Card Nation?
The other day I was standing three people deep while waiting to pay for my groceries when the person in front pulled out their checkbook. You could almost hear the collective groan as it took seemingly forever for this person to write the check, update the balance ledger and show the cashier their driver’s license. As I stood there wondering how long it takes unrefrigerated tuna to go bad, I started thinking about how people choose to pay for things. Aside from my erstwhile friend at Kroger, I rarely see anyone using checks. Most everyone I know falls into one of three groups: credit card addicts, debit card devotees or cash lovers.
